What is it all about and what are the "Aerosol Queens"?
As with "The Dirty Dozen", the "Aerosol Queens" Jam is a changing compilation of female artists who design a space together once a year as part of a public, non-commercial jam. However, participation is limited to women only!
The Aerosol Queens send out a clear signal for equality and diversity in the urban art and culture scene. With a focus on graffiti, breakdancing and music, the festival specifically promotes young girls and women in the otherwise male-dominated scene. Female artists from Germany and abroad provide inspiration as role models and create space for exchange, networking and creativity. The aim is to break down boundaries, boost self-confidence and encourage a new generation of talent to realize their dreams.
The idea for this dedicated jam arose in the context of conversations with interested female artists and the desire to be among themselves. This desire had different factors as a reason, but was decisive for the idea and subsequent planning, the result of which are the "Aerosol Queens" Jams, which had their debut in 2022 in Babenhausen.
Also at the "Aerosol Queens" currently annually participants with different styles come together to design together a large area according to a motto, to upgrade a corner of the city again a small piece, to have a good time and to bring together artists from the federal territory and abroad.
